Read that a couple days ago, good job by all involved and hats off to the Rising Sun members who helped. Pretty cool that Tim Nakari was allowed to run up the steps, not something many people get to do. Also nice that the driver admitted he erred rather than the previous report that rocks gave way. Most important is that nobody was seriously injured.

Once a year they close down Black Bear and let a group run it uphill first thing in the morning.

I recall reading that but isn't it some kind of rally or something along that line?

The person I know that's done it is involved with Rising Sun so I wouldn't be surprised if that's who organizes it.

As a former member I can say it's not one of their runs Tom. I searched and found a few vague references but none about this annual run specifically. :frown:
