we're putting a bathtub in our bathroom in the next few weeks and I need to find some tile for the walls. does anyone have recommendations for a tile shop? we only need 50-55 sqft, so not a ton. some of the places I've seen don't deal in that small an order.

For that amount, Habitat for Humanity is a no-brainer. Tons of left over tile and selections usually and cheap. And of course for a good cause.

If you decide to go "new" and are looking at World of Tile (several locations around), I interviewed there about 10 years ago. They told me that the sales people have pre-authorization to give up to 25% off without even asking. If someone seems ready to buy, they can go that to close the deal. They can discount further with manager approval.

awesome, Jeff. thanks for the info. there is a WoT near my work that I was going to check out. I'll keep that in mind.

Just make sure you hem and haw a lot, talk about going to look at some other places, and maybe mention that it just isn't in your price range. Never hurts to ask if they have any room to negotiate. :) Hope it works out for you.
