I could use some help guys. We went camping last night near hot sulphur springs. Now this morning it has rained and the road has turned to snot. And we are in our motorhome. The road is fairly steep downhill and I pretty much have no control. If a couple guys with winches could come that would be awesome. I'll pay for you fuel and take you out to lunch/dinner etc. we are on what I believe is fs 253. We came in on cottonwood pass and right at the top where the cottonwood pass sign is we took a left and are a good ways from there. Closer to come in from the west side of hot sulphur springs off of county road 50. Here is a screen shot. You can post here or call me at either 262-995-4664 (tel:262-995-4664) or 228-209-5465 (tel:228-209-5465). Alex

Wish I could help Alex, unfortunately my truck is unsafe to drive right now. Did you check out the rescue list phone numbers? (member section)

I can post on on Colorado 4x4 rescue and recovery page on FB as well if you like, usually a good response on there.

Posted on that FB page, I gotta clock back in and I work till 2, I wouldn't do you a lick of good anyway, but hopefully that FB page has someone up in that area.

I just sold my Wrangler with the winch.

Where are you? Cottonwood pass is down west of Buena Vista - Hot Sulphur Springs is on 40 west of Granby.

NOTE: Nevermind - I see there is a cottonwood pass in Grand County also ??

Sounds like Brandon and his crew are going to come help. The road is drying out a little so it's getting a little better.

I would wait it out. Trying to coordinate several winches will turn into a total clusterf***. Especially when done by amateurs. You risk more damage to your rig and others.

At this point I think a recovery today is useless due to too much mud and it is still raining. Now we are trying to get a ride back to Fort Collins and then come back for the motorhome once it dries up.

We have a ride coming in the morning. Thanks for offering to help but for today we're just going to hang tight and let it dry before attempting anything. Even if we have to come back for it in a couple days

I don't know the situation, but that sounds like the best decision.

Plus, think of the traffic mess you'll miss out on by waiting.
