So I've always wanted to do a run or meet some people who could show me the ropes. Just recently got a 2011 gmc sierra 4x4. Before that I had a subaru wrx that I would take on any back road I could find. I love getting lost and finding new places to travel. I'm excited to see where my new truck will take me :)

As for finding new places to travel...

www.TrailDamage.com is a go-to site for trails. Open up their Google Maps interface to see trailheads across the state. Click a trailhead icon for the trail name and their web page on the trail. If you find something of interest and want to get others together to run the trail, start a thread in "Planning" (Trail Forms > Trail Run Planning). See if others are interested and if yes, place the firmed up (date/time/meeting spot / trail to run) onto the calendar for people to put their RSVP in. Run the trail and enjoy!

Books exist - Charles Wells' FunTreks as are the MVUM's from the Forest Service (in paper and electronic forms).

As Q's here too - good folks abound.

Nutt'n wrong with a driveway pic / doesn't need to be something from out on a trail.

Welcome to FR! Everyone here is so kind and helpful. I'm new to CO but not wheeling and everyone here welcomed me and went out of their way to start me on the path of Co wheeling. I too was looking for easy trails due to vehicle limitations and have several I could suggest for you. Not sure what your schedule is like but as Moose mentioned, Diesel Doc is running some low end trails this Sunday. Also, there's a good chance that 96EXXLTinCo and I will be not far from your area sometime in the next week running some easier trails down there (little to no snow..I'm from TX and haven't gotten my snow/ice legs yet :eek: so prefer to keep it in the dirt for now) and would welcome the company! You should PM one of us and we can suggest some trails that we just ran this week (not too far from the Springs) that are in good condition with no weather issues/closures and maybe try to coordinate a run of you're free. Once again, welcome & happy n safe wheeling!

I noticed Bull Park looked like fun but Im not sure how the truck would handle it....Obviously don't want to get myself too deep. I do want to show the family a good time though :D.
