View Full Version : Gallery Albums - access denied issue

Stu has informed me that some of the Gallery albums are not available. Working with Stu, I now have enough information to start working on the issue (and this _should not_ cause a forum bomb [famous last words]).

It seems that if a member posted gallery photos and then the member's account transitioned to inactive, clicking upon a link to their album(s) results in an "you do not have permission to access this page." message.

This album "The love of my life" by member "keganmxj" is but a sample.

When you click the link, you might expect one of these two results...

I'll reply in the thread as to resolution (might be a week or two).

Jim I still get "...you do not have permission to access this page..."

I get it once in a while as well. I have been a member without revocation or suspension.

Rick, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Modt likely due to disabled accounts.

Yes, it is due to disabled accounts.

There is a difference, in permissions, between the administrator account and member accounts. The admin account has the needed permissions to view the content.

What I'm looking to do is compare the admin account with standard accounts, see which permission could be flipped so that member accounts could see the content.

I am sensitive to allowing permissions where they should not be, but I feel permission may be reasonably changed for this issue to be resolved.

Not to beat a dead horse but 90% of the pictures I click on that randomly scroll across the main page give me this message. Super Secret Pics only to be viewed in thumbnail size.....oooo. ;)

That's because the album is owned by someone no longer a member. Not sure what Jim's plan is for that error.

Okay. I thought some feedback was in order, assuming changes had been made by now. No big deal, just a boring, wife's pissed at me night for me.

Hey Jim, is there a preferences file for that script?

Jim

Um.... Pref file? Script?

I've been looking at account class privileges (and could be looking in the incorrect direction).

You want to log in to check on it?

Hey folks,

Working with Chris the past day or so, the gallery issue looks to be resolved (from testing).

For those wish issues, please funnel feedback to see if it's resolved.

Thanks,
Jim
