So wife got me a GoPro Hero for Christmas and Iv been tryin all week to move the vids to the laptop.
Movie Maker says I dont have the right program. Iv tried the cable and the chip and still nothing.
Help an old man out.

Sam, have you tried using GoPro Studio?

top one is where I have the program.
Ill have to try the help studio to night.

If a gopro works like most other cameras, just plug it into a usb port on your computer. Then go to 'My Computer' and the gopro should appear as a hard drive. Then simply find the movie on the gopro and drag it to the desktop.

This will work.
Or the Studio application will transfer them automatically.

I was given a basic GoPro and found the card was the problem. Once I cleared that of two files that were on from July everything worked. I don't have a clue why but by using the micro card in my camera I was able to delete the problem files.

I just import the files like any other camera- if you're using windows, put the camera card into your computer, from your start menu choose Windows Live Photo Gallery from Programs, open it and click on Import in the upper left. Choose the card files, import and you should be able to view them like any other camera video. hth.
