This message came to me via our Contact Us link. Unknown where it is located - possibly Idaho

I used to own an 81 Toyota Trekker - I sold it about 15 years ago and long story, It seems to have found me back. I have no time and space for it right now (wish I never sold it-or at least sold it to someone who knew what it was). It was abandoned and when police impounded it, I was the last registered owner, so responsibility goes to me, even though it has been 15 years since I last saw it. Anyway, it might cost $5 - 600 dollars to get out. It does not have a trans, I guess and I haven't seen it to know what kind of shape it is in. I know, critical info for the question I want to ask but if it is in fair condition, would I be a able to find someone who wants it for $1000 or so dollars? I thought I would start with a prominent 4x4 club. Again, if in decent shape (which BTW is was in great shape when I owned it - no dents and only about 100K miles on it) I would hate for yet another Trekker see the smasher. Tomorrow, 2-24 I should be able see it and know what kind of shape it is in. Save the Trekker! I do not have money for it, as bad as I wish I did.

I have an e-mail address, if anyone is interested.

If it's in Idaho I'm in Butte which would probably be out of the way for most of the state but if I can help any i'd be happy to do so.

I emailed him. Will let you know what I find out. My dad actually looked at a couple Trekker models about 10-15 years ago. He opted for an 85 4Runner instead.

I emailed the guy and he was pretty confused why I was reaching out to him... Sounds like it may have been some sort of scam.

Interesting type of scam. I can see it (darned scammers), but curious.

Yeah, I was baffled as to what the purpose of the "scam" would be if it in fact is a scam. I emailed the guy the description in the 1st post. Will see what he says.

Early on, I sent a link to this thread, along with a question: Where is it located? (no response)

The IP address the forum software put onto the e-mail registers out of Idaho [Qwest / Centurylink] (IP lookup says: Nampa, Boise, Boise, Boise)

Aside from a scam, it could be a person with WAY-TOO-MUCH-TIME-ON-THEIR-HANDS and likes to troll...

Gotcha. I was wondering how you knew it might be Idaho. It sounds more like a scam than ever. Unsure what their angle is, and how they would get my $, but sounds like someone is just wasting their time. Thanks Jim!

Here is the response when I sent him the original post. He can't seem to make up his mind, so I simply declined:

Yea that is me, that is the story. Today, I will go re-title it at the DMV and pick it up. The salvage place will let me have it back for $300. I have friend who will pay that price for it. I know it should sell for more because of it rarity. But again I do not have time for it. I am in Boise, ID. If you want it for $1500 maybe we can talk. I know how hard these are to find.
Thanks
Chris
