this is what I, and I believe Brad, have. Very popular. Decently capable. Great for trail communication.

Yikes! I just remembered I have a BaoFeng somewhere, I wasn't real impressed when I was testing it but I'll have to take another look, I'll have to search for it. I had a Yaesu handheld and mobile in the past - IIRC other members have them now.

I have the same baofeng. Rig to rig it is as clear as a cell phone. I have a small mag mount antenna which improves the range. Want to get a better portable antenna. Had a good friend load his chirp file today with all the local and Moab repeaters.

I have an Kenwood mountable I'm willing to part with.
Edit: sorry didn't see the handheld part, too early in the morning for me.
Can't remember what antenna I put on my baofung's but they worked pretty good. I'll look at Amazon , should still be in my history.
