I thought this had some interesting features. Seems like a decently built trailer.

Figured I would post the info and pics from the ad in the event it is deleted.

Very awesome, nearly new custom built adventure camper for sale. I purchased with intentions of doing extended weekends in Moab, Leadville, etc and wanted a very lightweight, easy tow camper that would provide nice weatherproof (and somewhat bear proof) shelter for 1-2 nighters in remote regions. Job change causes me to now forgo trips down I-70, so plans have changed and now must sell. Ultralight camper, very easy to tow. Teardrop style.

-with 16" jeep wheels (slightly different than those in pics, wrangler wheels, good tires)
-pop up roof on one end,
-cargo rack rods installed for bikes or roof rack
-locking storage compartments on both sides
-sliding, screened windows on both sides
-small AC unit built in (had intentions of covering/removing for cool mountain use)
-locking rear door
-built on a 1960s teardrop frame
-does not include tools, etc.
-inside pic shows simple 3 piece floor sofa/cushions that come with camper
-constructed with high quality panel wood, painted with exterior sherwin williams paint

I looked at a 4x8 trailer once and it was way too narrow for more than one person. IMO the minimum width you want is 5', 6'+ is really where you want to be. That is a nice trailer though.

But 4' will get to a lot of places a 5-6' won't.

Love the trailer! That will be very handy. I don't think it's to narrow for two people unless you sleep in separate beds as it is?? A lot of people sleep in the back of their XJ.

lol! if we slept in separate beds I don't think we'd be camping together! That is 48" wide in the bed area, the toolbox and tires make it wider anyway. A stock JK is 73" wide: a twin bed is 39", a full is 54" and a queen is 60". I actually tried a trailer that size, it was an aluminum skinned teardrop style built on a 4x8 trailer frame, and once you're in the "bed" it's too tight for two people. Try putting your couch 4' from the wall and see how the space feels, and in the trailer you can't get out of bed any way except towards your feet. Then add a dog, some gear...

Maybe it hasn't been that long since I was in college. :) 39" seemed like plenty of space for 2 people to sleep in a twin bed, and my wife and I used to share a 1st gen REI Half Dome Tent which was close to that same size.

The "worst" I recall in college was sleeping on a chair with a long footstool when we were at a conference. The chair was small enough for 1 person, but there was a girl who crashed on the chair with me. I know there was a bunch of us all crashing in the same room at this conference, and I think the two of us shared the chair because there was only 1 extra blanket. It was the type of conference where there were events and meetings going on almost 24 hours a day, so people were sleeping at random times which meant you just found a place to sleep for a couple hours where ever you could. It was 20 years ago and I really don't remember much except a backache the next morning. I just know 39" seemed like a luxury! 48" is more than sufficient for younger folks. :)

You have a point. When I went away to college I brought a single air mattress and my girlfriend and I shared it for almost a year, I don't remember it being an issue. My wife and I have been married 13 years, we have a California king and I could still use a little more room sometimes. Coincidentally I turned 49 this past Monday... I guess I've aged out of this thread. :)

Your only as old as you feel, at 56 yrs. old some times I feel like I'm 80 and sometimes I act like a teenager. (which catches up to me that evening like I'm 80!!) I hope my trailer I have been working on will work for the two of us as it will be close to the same size.
