I grew up watching a 69 charger on tv. Better known as the General Lee. My fave car to this day!! In my opinion, mopar made the best looking muscle cars, and dominate enough to get banned from nascar. Richard petty and.......was it the super bee?

I was into Mopars before I got interested in wheeling. My favorite was the 1971 'Cuda. At one time I owned a 1967 Plymouth Fury III two door. I bought it in 1991 from the original owner with 88K on the odo. Had a 318. After that I picked up a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. Had a transplanted 440. Was black with a pink stripe! :smokin: Both cars were in great shape. Sold the Fury and bought the Scout. A couple years later sold the Roadrunner because we needed something more "domesticated" :D.

I recall in my years as really young guy, 5-6 or so, my mother had a 71 challenger, only a V6 I think though. Sold it when we first moved to Colorado in '83. Should have kept that one.

cool little stories guys !
I have a 73 dart sport! I bought it for 300 bucks with a blown slant 6 i was 15 at the time ! Im 29 now!!
Been with me for a long time allmost half my life now.
I built a mild 360 back in 2005. Drove it for 2 months in 08 and its been sitting since then!
Iv been working,on it here and there for a month now and i missed it ! Hopfully over the summer i can get it on the road after i fix all the rookie teenage mistakes i did to it just to to get it to drive.
Fixed alot of them but theres still alot left.

I loved the slant 6 and owned a half dozen or so early 60's Valiants with them. Typically paid $50 for the car, drove for about 6 months and sold for $50. Pretty good cars except for a weak front end. Being a teenager in the 60's most of us had muscle cars of some type - GTO, Charger, Boss Mustang, Shelby, 442, etc.

I was the poor kid so I saved and saved to buy a '57 Chevy. Oh to have any of those from those days.

My only contribution to the thread is that with the NICE weather this Saturday - nice cars of all ilk are rolling the roads - classics with shine to the paint, oddballs (a nice VW bug with some sort of ?Mercedes? conversion), along with loping, throaty muscles cars sitting next to me at a red light. Good stuff - all of it. [edit to add - a James Dean style porsche and a classic 60's dune buggy]

Wife used to have a 70 or 71 RoadRunner, but got rid of that way before we were married. All we have now is a 2015 Challenger SXT plus (not the Hellcat). Wife said she wanted a car (We had 4x4's and trucks). I asked her what she wanted, she said a Challenger, so I bought her one. Even with the v-6 I have hit 130mph (still had pedal left and I never touched the sport mode) in it and it gets 23-27mpg. Im waiting for someone to come out with a turbo kit for it and we will put that on it. I would kill for a 71 Hemi 'Cuda, or a 69 Charger 500 (they only made 27 or so with the 426 and 4spd transmission).
