Well its been over a couple weeks since I made any progress on the CJ T14/D18 rebuild project, and here is why. Went on a 6 day/5 night float trip through Hells Canyon on the Snake River along the ID/OR border. We started with 9 people (and a 6mos old) with 3 oar rigs (a couple people used kayaks or IKs as well).

The put in just below the Hells Canyon Dam:

The biggest whitewater was on the first 2 days - this is me on the oars:

Some nice riverside camps:

This is me again on the last big rapid: does't look like much from way up on the bank, but the wave lower right surges pretty big and its hard to time once your out in the current:

Same rapid that surged at just the right (wrong?) time for one of our groups rigs: This was our smallest and lightest rig - only 14ft.

The two people and dog were all good - only lost some sandals and hats!

Wonderful !!!!

A dog and a 6month old... How'd that work out? Was the baby strapped to a parent when going through rapids? Was the dog experienced? (how did it react to the tip-over?)

We actually had 3 dogs - 2 on one raft and one on another (No dog for me). The 6mos old was really easy - but mom had her in a front pack and carried her around the 3 bigger rapids (thus the good photos from the bank).

Here is Fred - he's the dog that went swimming. He spends a lot of time out in the mts and didn't seem to concerned.

Here are Annie (chocolate) and Rosie (black):

And here is Ingrid with Dad:

And with Mom in the front carrier walking around a rapid:

And how she spend most of her time on the flat water sections:
