I was thinking of going up to either Chinns or Loch Lomund one of the upcoming weekends and was wondering if you guys have had any luck at either. If so what baits/lures/flies worked for you?

I never went to Chinns, but the time I actually fished Loch Lamond, the little trout were rising for mosquito. Unfortunately, I brought worms and artificial lures. :)

Chinns is the same...smaller flies w/color on them were drawing them up. caught a 12" brown last time I was up there, and had another one on but lost it before I could land it. lots of action in the morning when we were there.
I'd like to try some lures next time I go up...

Take plenty of bug spray, last week the skeeters were horrible.

Been a number of years , but I used to do pretty well for Splake at Chinns using a small "Spin-a-Lure" (gold if the sun is out or black if it's overcast). They're fairly small (14" is a large fish up there) but active fish.
