The couple driving this Toyota 4Runner slid off the side of Mosquito Pass during the dark on Saturday evening, July 2nd, 2016. A dangerous situation so they camped on the road until morning when they were able to hitch into town for help. The accident occurred just a hundred vertical feet or so beneath the 13,185 foot (4,018 metre) pass.
Mosquito Pass lies on the boundary between Lake and Park counties between Leadville and Fairplay, Colorado. Mosquito Pass is the highest road pass in Colorado but the road is only accessible to high clearance 4WD vehicles.
The cost for assistance was $250.00 USD per hour, for the Chevy's time away from the shop. At the time of this recording the Chevy had already been at work for over four hours...
