Sunday, August 21, my wife and I want to drive over Kingston Peak with a stop at the hiking trail for James Peak Lakes. I saw the hiking trail from the trailhead last time and it looks absolutely incredible, and Kingston Peak is my new favorite 4x4 trail in the Central City area, it's stunning all the way. The hike isn't long either, you can see the lakes from the trailhead. We can meet at the intersection of Apex rd and Highway 119 around 9am, there is a large area to meet and air down there. From there take Apex to Kingston, hike the lakes, then have lunch at the top. The views and photo ops are amazing the whole way, and almost any rig can do this trail. The hardest part, IMO, is the hill just after the James Peak Lakes hiking trailhead. It's got some large rocks on it that need the right line, check out the video below @8:00, that's the hardest spot I remember. It was really not hard at all, this trail is a lot of fun.

Anyone interested? I'll post it up if anyone is, I'll just bring the rescue list otherwise. :)

the hardest part of the hike is the hill right at the trailhead, you can see it at the end:
