I like that the filmer "left" so the miscreants would enter their car so he could get a license plate.

Otherwise, it could be - grab every license plate and hand all over to the police.

That's weird, it was on the news last night.

He is likely "selling" the rights to the video to the news stations now. I am sure he got some $ out of the deal doing it that way. Either way, they caught the guys so it served a purpose.
