View Full Version : Dual sport ride?

I've been offline for a while... In the meantime, picked up a Yamaha TW200 and a Kawasaki KLR 650.
While there are a bunch of forums (advrider, klr650.net, Colorado Dual Sport Riders) I haven't found anything as friendly as the trail run calendar here. Anyone interested in a dual sport ride?

sounds like fun! I should probably get some plates on this bad boy for next spring, then:

picked her up for a song & a dance (almost literally...I don't want to make anyone cry at how little I paid for this thing) from my neighbor for Father's Day. 2900 original miles on it. rides great, just needs the carb cleaned & adjusted. and I may try to replace the wiring this winter as a project, since most of it is kinda brittle.

It's so CLEAN!
Original seat? If yes, also a good surprise. It must have been stored inside / cared for at least a little bit.

yep. original everything. when I got the title, he had last tiled it in 1978 in Arkansas. the title then said 2200 miles. so he put 2200 miles on it the first 6 years, then the last 35 he only put about 600! he kept it covered in a garage, and pulled it out once a year to make sure it still started. I put a battery and new plugs in it, that's all.
find of a lifetime. :)

That is nice looking for it's age. My brother and I had a green one just like it. That was in 1982 and it sure didn't look as good as yours does. I think it was an electrical problem that caused us to get rid of it at some point.

I'd like to be kept in the loop on this. My husband rides a BMW FS800 dualy. He has wheeled with our group in the past when he owned a KTM. He does not currently belong to any biker groups, but has enjoyed joining in on our clean-up runs on FR4x4 in the past and a few other runs as well. He knows how to stay out of the way of our trucks and Jeeps etc. but enjoys our company and no one has complained. Depending on the trail, he might like to join you and I might like to follow in my Jeep if the trail permits. Winter season is OUT for both of us!
