I was just about to buy a set of 4 33x12.50 15 General Grabber ATs for my Jeep and realized the 33x12.50 15 Firestone Destination ATs I have on my trailer (got both for $160 total so I tried them) are almost brand new, they even still have a little tire hair on them. No issues with them on the trailer. My current Jeep tires would be fine to go on the trailer, meaning I would only need to buy 2 Firestone Destination ATs instead of 4 Grabbers.

I'm not blown away by the tread, but it can save me almost $400.00 so I'm seriously leaning that way. I found some videos, the Rover guy has a lot of videos so I can see he uses his junk, and the Rubicon is beating them up pretty well. They are the top rated AT on tirerack, FWIW, but I'm the only one who has any that I know. Has anyone wheeled these?

I run them on my XJ in stock size as my daily driver. I can say they did great in snow last year as far as commuting in town. They got limited dirt on a couple FS roads this year, but nothing gnarly. Sorry not really a lot of wheeling though.

I'd be concerned with sidewall protection on trails. but if you don't run many trails with rocks, go for it.

Are there any of those in Colorado? I would have to agree on the sidewalls, after having lost a sidewall on each Explorer this year. Definitely going with something that has a better sidewall next.

Thanks, and I agree now that I've thought it through I know down the road I'll regret it so I'm getting the Generals. The tread is just too mild and I'm also concerned about the sidewalls. Grabbers actually have the same thickness sidewall as the BFGs but they use two 1500 dernier thick plys and BFG uses three 1000 dernier plys. I don't know if that is worse same or better but I do know it's thicker than the Duratracs I've been running for 4 years or so without issues. Not worth saving a little $$ afterall.
