WOW

Imogene trail buried in the landslide or is it one ridge "left"?

EDIT: Didn't touch Imogene - but it did wholly obliterate Black Bear as the final switchbacks are under the landslide "behind" the building at the base.

Is this current or historical?

Never mind - just saw it on the news. Ajax Peak avalanche mediation.

My understanding is it was this afternoon. Triggered intentionally from the helicopter the photo was taken from.

Got the photo from a Facebook group: Colorado Photography.

That is massive. Glad it was intentional and not triggered by a skier/snowboarder.

Don't they trigger that one almost every year when they have big accumulations. There are quite a few youtube vids of other triggered ones in the past.

Anyone know what that building in the photo is?

I think that's the park building Jeff, known because it has bathrooms and a large parking lot. I may be wrong but that seems right to me.

Look like an old mining structure from the satellite view.

I figured that was a mining building. It would be hard to get home owners insurance to live there!
