I'm building a slip and twist traction bar and I think I'm going to have to get a piece of Dom turned down on a lathe like 10 thousandths or so. If anyone has one in the Denver area I'll pay in beer or cash.
Pm me if available
Thanks

The boys at advanced cylinders can do this work.
They are very reasonable price

5ft. I dropped it off at that advanced cylinders place. They said they would do it.

So I had contacted advanced cylinders about machining down a piece of DOM about 40 thousandths or so. They said ok but it would be at least a week before they could get to it. No problem Im not in a huge rush their labor rate seemed fair. So I dropped off the tubing. After about 3 weeks I thought I would check to see if its done as 3 weeks is far more than 1 week. They hadn't touched it. Ok, "when will you get to it?", They said they would call me back with a day they could get to it-which seemed like a blow off. A couple days go by and no call, so I call them. They said they would get to it soon they have been busy. After the month had passed I called again, "we'll get it on the lathe this afternoon" they said. I call 3 or 4 days later to see if I can pick it up, "its scheduled to go on the lathe this morning," they said. I wait 4 more days and just show up knowing likely nothing has happened and that is what happened-nothing. So I took my tube and politely left, all the old guy did was give me a sorry. Its pretty aggravating when a company is just shooting out lies to get you to leave them alone. I gave them more than enough time. Anyway, found a well equipped machine shop called Rex Machine, they seem legit, will give this a go again.

It kinda sucks when places will push off the little guy to run through big jobs.
It would at least be a little better if they would tell ya up front,

No they never did it. I had no choice but to give up on them after a month and a half. They initially said they couldn't get to it for at least a week. Then after a few weeks I contacted them to see whats up. They just kept blowing me off. I really have never experienced such treatment from a company before. I was really dumbfounded because I have heard of companies doing this type of stuff to people but never personally experienced it. Especially in Colorado most people are pretty nice to deal with. But the older guy that answers the phone just kept lying to me. Now that so much time has passed, I am on a time crunch and couldn't wait for them any longer. I am glad I planned way ahead in case something like this happened. Hopefully this other place (Rex Machine) will work out.
