Anyone in Denver metro area have an oil pump priming tool to use down through the distributor slot? From what I gather an SBC tool will do the trick as its the same for my Buick V6. I don't have an old distributor to cannibalize for this purpose. They are not that expensive so will probably order one, but thought I would check here first.

You can "rent" one from the autoparts store at no charge. That is what I ended up doing when working on a 350.

None of the ones around me have them to rent/borrow...but I can get one from JEGS for $10 and it has the adjustable bushing to control depth and side to side movement.

I borrowed one from the Autozone in Littleton:
6667 W OTTAWA AVE
LITTLETON CO 80128
(303) 972-0601
I think the OReilly on Bowles also had one to loan:
O'Reilly Auto Parts
Bowles Marketplace
Littleton, CO
(303) 971-0570
I got the loaner after buying one online that didn't fit. The machining wasn't correct, as it was a bit too large. It will need just a tiny bit of grinding to fit. I believe it is still in my tool box. Yours if you want it.
