Just testing the waters here...not sure if anyone would be interested.

1972 Yamaha DT2 250 Enduro bike for sale. Ultimate barn find! This thing is in amazing condition. it has been garaged it's whole life, and well taken care of. I am the 2nd owner and have only had it since last July. My neighbor is the original owner. He bought it new and put 2200 miles on it in the first 6 years. since then, it's only seen ~ 700 miles or so. I was always maintained, winterized, covered & regular maintenance. He just didn't want it any more. Paint is 9/10, no crashes, dents or major scrapes. Seat is perfect, tires are original, but not weathered or cracked. I put a new battery in it and drove it around a handful of times before moving it in my basement to clean up and use as a project. I planned to rebuild the carb and rewire the bike. the wiring is all stock and I just noticed that some of it seemed brittle. all lights work and everything functions, I just thought that new wiring would set the bike up for another 30 years of service.

Only issues I can see:

-runs a little rich - carb cleaning & rebuild would help
-exhaust drips a little - I've heard this is normal and a rebuild of the carb would help this as well
-missing the plastic thumb push for the high/low on lights. switch still works, it's just missing the plastic
-clutch cable could use some adjusting - seems tight to me...shifts fine, but just seems like it could be smoother
-needs a new air filter

Like I said, this thing is in amazing shape for it's age and runs and drives well. The engine is strong and it will wheelie if you want it to. A little clean-up and some maintenance and it will be ready to ride all over.

Clean & clear title in my name.

Asking $3500 cash OBO or trade for an off-road trailer w/RTT to pull behind my Jeep. Not interested in other bikes or anything else for trade. I have too many hobbies which is why I'm selling.

That is sooooo nice. Glad I don't have the cash laying around, those are some of my favorite bikes and I too have too many projects. :thumb: I bet it would do well on ebay.

I thought about eBay, but I've never sold a vehicle and I'm not sure I want to try to deal with that. plus they're kinda hard on you on fees nowadays...

I second eBay. Unique items have a decent chance of gathering high interest with a high/er bid price.

At the begging of the week, I thought I had a deal on a 71 Yamaha 350 ($800 not running) Two stroke. It hadn't been plated since 1982. I paid the guy the money, but I really couldn't get to the bike to look at it. So I told him that it was contingent on if the motor would turn over. Went with a truck and try to crank the motor by hand, it wouldn't budge. Then tried to kick with the foot and nothing :(. What is the bummer, is that I was also buying a honda mini trail 50, but he will not sell them separately.
