Hey Guys I am new to CO and running the trails here. I tried to get up on the Rampart Range about two weeks ago with the family to ride down it. I know the north gate is closed, but I heard their is other ways to get up to it. I looked on the National Forrest page and could not find anything about some of trails being closed. We started up Jackson Creek Rd (CR38 / FR 502) and got about a mile past pine view Ranch to where the Private road turns up the hill and the gate was closed there.
Also we went down Hidden Valley Road. What a creepy place. Looks like a bunch of dooms day preppers and maybe even a cult have set up shop back there a few years back.
What do you guys use to make sure the trails are open besides calling the Ranger Station? Is there a Facebook page for the MVUM's or the National Forrest that they post closures on?
Thanks.
Bill
I look forward to meeting some of you all out there.
