Got my welding helmet ready. Tint goes up to shade 13. :) I'll be in the garage working on putting engine back in my rover.

That's what I did years ago, works great when we doubled the lens.

Eclipse lesson- self darkening welding helmet does not self darken from the sun. I looked at it for a second and then had to write 20 on a form for work... I had a big yellow spot in my eyes and couldn't see what I was writing, ended up making a 2 with a circle around it.

Mine worked fine, I did have to turn the sensitivity up.

Drove up to Wyoming (why the hell not). I had my welding helmet, and my buddy had eclipse glasses. Seeing a total solar eclipse was pretty darn amazing. A partial just isn't the same. It is the difference between watching a race car and being in a race car. :) My photos suck, but I attached them anyways.
