Donations needed for flood victims

My brother is planning to take his Deuce and Half down to Texas to help evacuate people from the floods. His truck will be empty for the ride down, so he is willing to haul donation items.

Here are the items apparently most in need:

Non-perishable food
Bottled water
Clothes
Blankets
Diapers
Sleeping bags
Cots
Footwear
Hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc)
Generator
Chainsaw
Life Vests

This is temporarily on hold. My brother is trying to get 100% confirmation that his truck can be used to rescue people, otherwise he won't be making the drive. He is getting conflicting information. Thanks!

UPDATE: My brother was able to coordinate with a local church - Westwoods Community Church. They will be covering his travel costs, and they will be forming a caravan of volunteers towing boats to Texas.

They are collecting donations of supplies and anticipate the first caravan to leave sometime tonight. To my knowledge, there will be a 2nd caravan with additional donations leaving in 2-3 days. I returned just NOW from dropping off donations. They are still actively collecting today and likely will be over the next couple days.
