I've been working on gaining a little more ground clearance on the elephant.
So far the front end is done, just need to finish rear end, it will be more work involving some body cuts.
I will also be modifying some rock sliders.
I am excited about this, as I have wanted to do this work ever since I bought the truck.
It will look a little like a baja f-150 when I get done

This is how it starts...it never ends though. Bigger, better...forever.

Now you have gone and done it! Like James stated above, once you start, it never ends! But the journey is the cool thing.

I found some I beams, 4" x 2and a quarter" for real cheap. Would they work as a starting point for sliders?

Yup.
That or some 2x4x..240 rectangular tube.

Lewis is a good fabricator as well.

Build it, wheel it, brake it, fit it, repeat!

Ok , I will need to meet Lewis and talk about this.
I will purchase a few rails of the I beam I found and go from there

181,000.....
My exhaust guys pulled the muffler and replaced with one whole pipe
So it's new. I didn't like how the tail pipe went out the side and really pretty low,
So now it's much more tucked up in the frame

Nice option to move the tail pipe up into the bumper keeping it out harm's way.
Rear bumper would be nicely done in some rectangular tube.
Tucked in to keep clearance as well protection for the body.
Front will take more work.
Contact Andrew( moose) see if he can send you pics of the one we built for him.
It's big as it's a late 90's Dodge bumper. There rolling bill boards.

I have material just time is going to non existent for me

I still have some left overs from what I took off, mainly that big o cattle guard lots of nice tubbing still on it.
The thing I'm having trouble seeing is the bends around the hitch and or pulling that plate off then building up again from there
However it is absolute that I am going to tube from the soft edge of body to help protect that area.

Next week, fender flares.
Then tires, I've found,
Dick Cepek Extreme Country 871 for 4 + 217 for spare
Federal Couragia M/T 640 for 4 + 160 for spare
Both LT 285/70R17 off road / mud
Let me hear your feed back on these, like which one will last longer or your recommendations, how much of a difference is there between them
Also hoping to still have a fairly quiet ride on pavement

That is what we have all said, at least once, keep the dream alive.

Tires, sliders, locker(s), lower gears, more Front Range 4x4 stickers, etc, etc, etc. Always something else it seems.

Looking forward to running a trail with you and the elephant again.

Probably 33's
As not to cause anymore body cutting than I already did
