Lol, my rig (at least the little blue shop truck) is and has been in running/driving condition. I just haven't dealt with the passenger side door/window/B Pillar body damage yet. And that doesn't matter much since no one usually rides with me...

I have just been finding my happy place behind a set of sights or a scope instead of behind the steering wheel lately.

Though, if this next year plays out the way it is currently scheduled, I will be begging you all to let me follow you around in a few different rigs that will get finished up.

Can't wait to see you behind the wheel of the new beast, Congrats again!

on the cage? Those are storage containers.

Thanks - it just looked like there was some radiator hose size hose coming from the one on the left. Ah, the one on the left - what I'm taking as hose / tube is probably the aluminum roll cage that has some cushioning zip tied to it??

There is foam on the cage to help keep rear passenger from hitting their head. The small hose is part of the rollover vent for the fuel tank that is in the rear. The storage containers are aluminum tubes with threaded caps on each end. They are called Stashkans and are no longer available.

Nice ride!

Is the front end supposed to be VW bug or Jeep? It appears to be somewhere between the two.

It sat for over a year and a half so it needs some work to get it in running shape, mainly fuel delivery issues. Ordered many new parts and hopefully will be running and on the trails soon.

Sounds like a good time......not so much.
But it's worth the work for sure.
Hope you will be very happy with it once it's ready to rock

It's not too bad. Fuel pump was dead, both pickup and return lines in the fuel cell were deteriorated. While I have it drained and apart I am going to change the pickup to include several Walbro pickups.

Walbro pickups

I learned something new tonight! I searched for'm - interesting devices. Thx.

FWIW, it's my understanding that modern gas (ethanol) eats many components that were safe before Ethanol fuel. I just redid my fuel delivery system last summer and opted to use PTFE or Viton to replace any rubber hoses or seals that I could... hopefully it will last a good long time.

Have you ever looked at Holley Hydramat for fuel pickup? Pretty cool (but expensive) technology!

Using a hydramat would be a lot easier but for my application it would be about $320. I think I can part together the Walbro setup for about $150.

Got the new fuel pump and filters in place. Unfortunately now there is no power to the pump so I need to track that down. All fuses in the fuse blocks are good, must be another one somewhere.

The fuel pump was external and right behind the front seats, very noisy. Took it out, relocated filter and shut off valve, added a Holley Fuel Cell module, much better.

Enjoy the lack of that noise!
