Wondering if one of our machinists might be able to make some steel caster shims for me? Probably looking at something like a 4 degree shim, 1.75" wide and a few inches long (whatever the spring pad length is that I need to measure). If anyone has these or can make them - drop me a PM with info (including cost - would just need a set of two).

Morris 4x4, Summit Racing, and Northridge should have them if you can’t get them made locally.

Finding them in steel now days is the hard part.

yup - that is the problem

Looks like a machinist friend from the early cj crowd is making a few sets for other members this week and will add a set in for me.

Now the question is whether I want to go to Casper WY to buy a $300 cj6 with no drivetrain...For $300 its hard to go wrong...and some of the early cj members have offered me the $300 just for the unique ventilating windshield. Would basically be a free jeep to build into a custom project. I see a full build project with frame boxing, axle swap, sbc with a sm465 mated to....hmmm? free gets expensive quick!

You could also build a trailer to match your rig.

Easiest thing might be to purchase these and narrow them to fit.

One of these sets is mine - already in the mail. Made by a machinist connection through the early cj forum.

Hey man I just found these in the garage; totally forgot I had them. I made them about 20 years ago for the Scout after my SOA. They are ~4.5 degrees and are yours for the taking if you want them.
