China Wall is officially closed for the year. Gates were installed this year and are now locked.
This closure will last until 6/15/18. This is to allow Bighorn sheep to lamb in that area.
This PSA from coloradofourwheelers.org/ who have adopted this trail.

Had a little time Saturday, this was close, so i ran it. This is a much different trail today than it was on the anniversary run. For starters, there appears to have been some heavy rains that have created some washouts and changed a few obstacles a bit.
The biggest difference is down by the creek. There is now one trail heading down the hill where there we were several routes to choose from. The FS has installed a lot of metal posts along the creek and are heading up the hill with them based on paint marks on the ground and the pile of materials sitting there. All of the picnic/camp spots are now behind the posts. Next will certainly come the cable to complete the fence work. The trail is now closed before going up the little hill to the circle where a small group could turn around, so there is little room to do so now. It would be best to turn around at the to of the hill right after the China Wall obstacle as there is plenty of room, especially in a group.

All of the picnic/camp spots are now behind the posts.
Does that mean those camp spots will not be accessible / legal?

The fence just restricts the ones that are (were) along the creek, not at all the area you camped in. One should be able to park and cross the fence on foot to enjoy the creek still, the fence will just keep vehicles a bit further away. There is a similar fence on the box canyon side of the trail that has been there for quite some time. Just the FS putting in some hard scape controls as I see it.

Thanks for the update...I haven't run this trail in over a year and thinking I'd like to get out to it sometime this fall before it closes for winter. Maybe sometime in late Oct before ski season starts.
