Hey what's up everyone, my name is Scott I moved to Colorado in 2015 from the East Bay in California and don't really know anyone out here partly because I work from home.

I live in Castle Rock and am married with 2 young girls and a 3rd on the way.

I'm pretty new to 4 wheeling myself, I've been on a couple trails from when I've gone winter camping out at Jefferson, but my fondest memories of offroading was when I was a young kid with my dad with our '86 Bronco. Looking to get out more, learn a lot and meet some cool people along the way.

My truck is a Chevy '06 Silverado 1500 Z71 crew cab, 5.3L V8. I picked it up last year it was already lifted with the procomp 37" tires but most of the suspension was in bad shape, my mechanic swapped out the shocks with Bilstein 5100 and 5160s in the back. It had a cherry bomb exhaust and I had that ripped out and put in Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system. I have a K&N cold air intake I just haven't had a chance to get it installed yet. The lift is 6" with a 3" body lift and my mechanic buddy is strongly suggesting I take out the body lift, I'm still thinking it over.

Welcome! Can't wait to meet you out on the trail. Great looking truck and I think you find most real wheelers will agree with your mechanic. I have seen it take very little to shift a body on frame with that much body lift. Same with these trucks with huge lift blocks under their leafs for lift bad juju. 1-1 1/4 " max in my opinion. See ya soon!

x2 here

Body lift is for mall crawlers. As well the make the truck look like poo!
The chevy frame hangs low to start with and looks like POO now add body lift! I bet we could hit golf balls through that gap!
The factory blocks suck but its what you get.
I would consider the shackle flip kit from RUFFSTUFF SPECIALTIES
As i am sure your kids ride in this truck, lift blocks and body lift should be very hi on the fix it list!

Any how welcome and loook forward to met you on Saturday

Welcome! Glad to see you joined up!

Nice looking truck, I wasn't expecting to see 9 inches of lift on 37"s from a 'newbie' haha. Gotta agree on taking out the body lift... or at least take it as low as you can to still fit those tires.

I look forward to wheeling with you, I might be on the run this Saturday. Still deciding if I want to drive that far since I'm up in Brighton.
