I see these and other rigs that are SERIOUS builds all over Iceland. These folks know how to do it - and 35” tires over here are for wimps ;)

The tires might be big but I don't think they flex much.

Top gear has a couple episodes were they do some "offroading" in Iceland. Not quite pertaining to what your trying to get at but entertaining nonetheless.

I don’t think they flex much either and I do think they intend to float on top of the snow and glaciers. It’s crazy because these huge wheeled rigs are everywhere here!

The rigs most of us have are way nicer, in my opinion ... Plus how much use do they really get, are they able to tool around all year or for a short season?
I can apreciate the racing across water thing but sounds pricey ! Buggy up hill with all you got is what happens just up the road from me, just don't think I have enough nerve or cash for that. Where Colorado is ... is perfect. Get the snow wheeling, water crossing, hill climbing mountain goat style that I feel is much better than anywhere else !!! Yes, I am home sick ... LoL

I think they build their rigs mostly for the winters here, in summer it’s probably mostly water crossings, mud and dirt roads. Not so much Rock crawling. Here’s a video that’s pretry cool and more reflective of Iceland wheeling than the above. It’s mid summer now and I’m seeing these used for family trips and daily driving by lots of locals..... they mostly just look bad ass!

And I’ve noticed most rigs here are Toyota Land Cruisers and Hilux, Nissan Patrols and lots of Land Rover Defenders. I’ve seen less than 3 Jeeps so far ;(
