Yesterday my wife and I went for a hike at White Ranch Park (the fog was incredible!) and saw that all of the fire rings and buckets were gone from the campsites, and all of the firewood stations and water stations are gone. Last year we found a campfire abandoned and put it out; turns out the rangers have been finding atleast one a week all year and have had enough. If you've ever camped there you know how great the services are (watch the video below), but even with what is provided some people just can't control themselves, and as a result there are no more campfires at White Ranch Park, period. More people means more of the 1 in 1000 a-hole that ruins it for the rest of us.

Sad thing, this video is only two years old, they just put all of these fire rings in, along with free firewood and water and all of the other great improvements. Last week they ripped all the rings out.

Did I hear it correctly - this campground is only accessible via non-motorized transport of 1.6 miles from a trail head? If yes, that cuts out a lot of society - but yet there's still enough who are making the trek (horse or hike) to cause problems.

Yes, it's hiking / horses and a LOT of bikes. Awesome park. It was likely just day hikers having a fire and not knowing or caring enough to handle it correctly. It was a Jeep, however, that ruined the "Honor system" camping that was there for years. He drove down the hiking trail to the Sawmill Campground, which is technically a service road but he still managed to do some damage to it. He camped overnight with his jeep at a walk in site, had a huge fire that he didn't put out and went all over the place in his Jeep causing damage to the area. I posted pics of him on here but can't find the thread, we just happened to be there when it happened, saw them search / arrest him and his girlfriend and tow the Jeep away. Certainly not blaming Jeep owners in general for anything, just the one in particular for the one incident that I actually witnessed.
