I'm in! (as long as I get some work done on it this week(build a square driveshaft and bleed the brakes))

I will be on this run if I can borrow a 37" tire and wheel for a spare from ORS. Someone sabatoged (sp?) my drivers side wheel last night by loosening all the lug nuts and I reamed out the holes in the wheel and ruined the studs. I found this out as I got to the gate at the Jefferson job. I had stopped 3 different times to see what the vibration was, checking the tie rod, ball joints, looking to see if one of the tires was low, checking the u-joints, etc. Turning hard into the gate made the truck lurch to the side. I managed to repair all the studs, but the rim is shot, leaving me with no spare.
How do I know it was messed with? Well, before Pathrat came over to get the skip plates welded on, I was doing my every 2 weeks tighten everything I can see and check the torque on the lug nuts and steering knuckles. I also double checked the torque on the other 3 wheels out of curiousity when I put the spare on and all the others were fine. Losing the drivers side wheel would cause the most damage to everyone and could also cause you to swerve you into oncoming traffic.
Sueing an ex partner cause he seriously screwed you over can cause other problems...This, in fact, was brought up to our lawyer prior to starting anything. Now there is a police report and paper trail...

Brody,
Do you want to try to meet up with the CO4x4 group?
BTW, where on 34 is Jamoca Joes? I searched on it and it isn't listed in yellow pages.
Storm Mountain and Storm Drain 6-28
Ok, depart the Starbucks at Denver Ave and Hwy 34 in Loveland at 10:30a.

I'll be on CB channel 16, my cell is 720-217-2786, call if you're running late and you want us to wait for you!
If you're picking up gas in Loveland, please do so before coming, I want to head straight to the trailhead from the meeting spot. Probably a good idea to bring a lunch and some warm clothes too.

No idea where Jamoca Joes is. I just figured that there can't be that many places west of Loveland and that it would be pretty visible.
Meeting up with the Colo4x4 folks is good. Is the time about right ?

Just a quick comment or two before Admin moves this part of the thread:
1) WTF, over???
2) Good thing you have the ability to be aware of your surroundings. I would never want to mess with one like you.

It is looking like Hugh and I are doing Dome Plateau and Top of the World this weekend. Temps are projected to be around 100 so I think it is now or not until September for a Southern Utah trip.
ps... Brody: it is 'sabotaged' ;)

I figured it would be so obvious I couldn't miss it, but never hurts to ask where it is.
The CO4x4 group isn't meeting until 10:30.
I still have to get my driveshaft built so I'm still on the fence, but I'm going to try to get it mostly done tonight.

It's not looking good for me now. I'm in my new place but losing a day since I have a bad gas leak. It's being fixed but permits, inspections, etc are wasting a day. The repair man is on his third leak. Previous owner must have been a do-it-yourself guy.

Sorry to hear that Chris. I still don't know for sure for me. LaDawn was supposed to try to find a 37" spare for me, so I have to wait and see. Not too fond of off roading without a spare...
Hey...on the square driveshaft, don't forget to dump about 5-10 oz of silica sand (best) or regular play sand into the inner shaft and cap the end. This helps a lot with balance and vibration. If you are not worried about it, it's not a big deal....

Brody,
Unfortunately, I think I'm out.
I need to get a 1" MC before I hit the trails.
I drove it today, and I have to leave a lot of room in front of me to have time to stop. Since I upgraded to IFS rear axle and LC rotors and IFS calipers, my petal is soft.
I'll be hitting you up for a trip in the next couple weeks.

Ditto. I'm out too as I cannot find a 37" spare to borrow and ORS isn't going to be able to mess with the remount and new wheel until next week. No big deal, and I would do it myself, but the Staun beadlocks are another storey and need a pro. The tire is fine, the steel wheel is a total write off...
Still want to do these 2 trails, so I will repost another run. Good luck with the MC. Try Central Foeign Auto Parts (Steve Brownell) or Off Road Solutions. Either of these guys might have one for cheap.
