As I look through the members I realize how few of you I met before leaving the state so I'ma bit reluctant to seek favors but I will anyway. :lmao:

My wheeling days are over and I'k okay with that but our yen to get out remains strong. Before leaving CO to move to FL we sold most everything we owned including our travel trailer. We've done one trip us the east coast and down the west and plan more covering the east coast of the country. We'd like to avoid hotel and restaurant expenses so we're thinking about a small camper as trailers, easy as they are, still wear me out more than I like.

I'm not finding much locally so took a quick look at Denver craigslist and saw this: https://denver.craigslist.org/rvs/d/1985-gmc-brougham/6759151309.html

Anyone nearby that knows about these things that could take a peek for me? Anyone have experience with something along this line? Am I looking to get myself in another vehicle pit to throw money at? Any info appreciated. We're driving up for Christmas and will be only spending a couple days with our kids and grandkids but what the heck, maybe we'll get lucky.

Thanks for any comment and keep on wheeling!

Hi Chris! I don't have any experience with RVs, but good luck with looking for a good one!

Hey Chris, I have done 3 engine replacements, all had other issues once new motor was installed. It needs to be broke in proper, or rings will fail. He posts the new motor has 500 miles on it, this is the break in period for a new motor usually. I would probably just rent one Chris. Hope you are well, happy holidays too.

The Craig’s list post you linked and the picture you provided are two very different campers.

Yo Yo Chris baby !!!!! LoL
I'm with glacier Paul on this. Renting is an assured way of total coverage if anything should happen. I've known many who took this route and said it's worth it.
Talk about making things easy, it's SUPER easy.
If I were still home in Denver I would look a bit for ya as I grew up around campers of all makes models and such. If you look at anything in or near Amarillo, Tx let me know I'd be happy to peak at it for ya

Thanks everyone! We may just go back to a travel trailer which gives us the freedom we want. Rental is okay but they have these silly policies of returning on time, penalties for going past the return date, etc. We like to be able to say, "Damn, this is a nice spot, let's stay here for a while." vs the "Gotta go, we're on a schedule!"

Hell Phillip, if I was in Denver I'd look myself! LOL.

I was just there for a couple days for a family emergency but had to come home since I can't handle that altitude anymore. Barb stayed behind to provide the support needed. Kind of sucks but Ive resigned myself to spending the rest of my life here with "sugar white sand beaches, warm weather & lush tropical landscape.” LOL

Winter's setting in though, right now at 4:50pm it's a chilly 82 degrees.

Thanks Jackie, I've given up my search due to cost of storing it somewhere since I can't park it at my condo. Storage rental costs are high since all the snowbirds create a high demand for them. Oh well, hotels are okay too.

This will be our first Christmas without snow and I'm happy about that. My daughter and her kids will be here for a week but my son doesn't have enough time off to make it.

I hope your Christmas is great and the season finds you all well. Are you heading to MN this season? Brrrrr
