Just finished rebuilding the PS pump from my 22R. Got another pump to rebuild it on the bench, then will toss it into my truck. Unsure what year the pump came from, but they look identical. The rebuild has N8K stamped on the front. I used a rebuild kit from Checker, PowerCraft 8760. Not all the parts in the box were used on this pump. Will detail the rebuild with pics.

Pump at beginning. Already removed brackets and front pulley. Had to use air impact to get pulley nut off.

Removed vacuum line valve and low PSI hose. Also unbolted the flange for the low PSI tube.

Separated front part of pump from back 1/2. Be careful to have the front tipped downward. I made this mistake. There are a bunch of little needle type things that will fall out of the front if it is tipped backward. If the little blades do fall all out like mine did, it is easier to put the entire front 1/2 back together and then place them in. There is a flat outer edge and a slightly rounded outer edge. Hard to see. The rounded part goes toward the outside since it will rub along the inside of the pump. The flat edge fits into the little "holes" near the shaft. Also, BEFORE you separate the pump, MARK THE 1/2's. It has to be bolted back together in the same position. Otherwise it won't fit into the brackets on the engine correctly.

This is how the 2 pieces fit onto the backside of the front of the pump. Outer piece slides over the pair of pins.

Replaced the large o-ring that fits around the housing. This seals the front 1/2 to the back 1/2. I also dabbed a tiny bit of Blue RTV on the surface before I re-assembled the two halves.

Replaced the front seal. Simply popped it out with a flat-blade screwdriver. Just pushed the new one in with a couple gently hammer taps. After this, simply re-assembled the 2 halves and put the outer attachments on (low PSI hose, etc).
