I talked w/ Brody about it earlier in the week - he mentioned the F.S. guy with him on the clean up run said it wasn't open yet. Figured I'd head up to check things out to estimate when it may be passable. It won't be for a few more weeks. The big snow drift is bigger than I've ever seen it. What really burns my a$$ is people are taking the illegal bypass around the drift - driving past the "Road Closed" carsonite and some right over it. Good thing I had the camera handy today. I'll be sending some pics to the USFS. There is also a ton of new fence up there. It keeps the idiots out of where they don't belong, but it ruins the natural beauty of the area.

I think the guy in the Toyota noticed my camera at this point. The guy on the quad was a cockey asshat.

Nice pics. Too bad that some dufus's had to do that. Clearly they just don't understand. Pick another trail or don't go.

Where is my snowcat when I need it?!

Great job getting the documentation. Were you able to deter them?

Your report demonstrates why trials get closed. I will not start another 'stay on the trail' rant here.

Not having been on the trail before, has the illegal route gotten wider to the left of the sign because the sign was placed in the middle of the original illegal route? I was thinking that the sign isn't in a good place, but then realized it probably was in the good spot at one time and folks have simply driven around the sign and relocated the illegal route.

I sent the pics to Brant. That portion has gotten wider around the carsonite - closer to the tree. The guy on the quad pretended to "just notice" the carsonite at the top of the closed area. (he passed the one at the bottom to get up there) Then he said, "Well, this is the way I'm going back down." No F'n respect... I hope they all enjoy their tickets :D

Pretty scenery pictures.

Too bad it takes special tools to put those carsonite signs in because you can't help but notice one when whacked upside the head with it.
