Hi all,
starting to think about our annual anniversary - normally to China Wall. I believe the trail opens back up on June 15 - although I have not been to the USFS site to verify this. This year, 6/15 would be a Sat....don't know if that would be too busy weekend to try and plan the run? The following weekend 6/22-23 could also be a considered. Wondering what people are thinking? This run usually takes place on a Sat and involves some of the group camping out on Fri and/or Sat night, and usually quite a bit of food is brought and a lot of socializing. Some of the group that sticks around to Sun usually find something else in the area to run as well - like the Gulches or Lil Moab.

Sound pretty cool.. Based on the pictures it's a fairly difficult run. What level of mods do you think are minimum?

A friend with 98 TJ on 31" tires and no lift did this trail with us last year. You'll be fine.

Can be run by a totally stock SUV....what makes this trail great is that there are fun challenging obstacles for mild to moderate built 4x4s, but all the obstacles can be bypassed so each driver/vehicle can choose which obstacles they want to try and which to skip. Its also kind of neat that its a bit more solid granite rock obstacles - so it has a bit of a beginner rock crawling feel as opposed to the steep, loose rock climbs with lots of wheel spin we see elsewhere. Its a great trail for a run like this that can accommodate all vehicle levels...In a stock 2012 JK, I would guess you could run 80-90% of all the hard lines with a bit of spotting.

I think he is actually lifted on 33" tires, so he'll be just fine.

Hey all - I added a poll to see what the interest might be...I had to vote for 6/22 as I will be out of town on 6/15, but as always, its majority preference - especially since I will be doing a lot of weekday wheeling as soon as the school year ends.

I can confirm June 15th is the gate swing for China Wall.

At this point I could go either day but I voted for the 22nd since that is the majority so far.

Seems like it's a pretty solid vote for 6/22. Time to post it up as scheduled run?

Thinking a 10am meet at trailhead? Some may want to have a meet spot somewhere on the road there...like the last gas station...
