Hey, anyone wanting to get out this Saturday 5-18 for a moderate trail run? How is Slaughterhouse gulch looking? (Closed until may 31) Anyone been up there this spring yet? Im up for something around that tail difficulty. Or something like Barbour fork which I don't think opens for a while yet.

I am considering running northern Switzerland trail (cliff hanger 2.0) + Pennsylvania Gulch this weekend, Ironclads/Bunce, or Miller Rock depending on who is available.

I might have another friend not in this group interested in heading up in his Jeep.

Sounds like we have a plan. 10 am Saturday at the entrance near sawmill Rd off of left hand canyon?

Excellent. I'm not exactly sure where that is looking at google maps. Can you help me locate that spot please? Is this it?

Yeah, turn left there and take the dirt road a ways. The trailhead is on the left maybe 1/2 mile. Immediately past the trailhead is a private residence and gate. It is easy to miss the trailhead and try to enter the private gate. We could also meet at the spot you have provided an image of, and just air down at the trailhead if folks don't know where the trailhead is.

Well unless something changes I'll just head up that way early so i don't miss out on the peeps showing up. I'll just bring a chair and some lunch in the fridge.

I'd appreciate GPS coordinates / google map URL to the meeting spot.

Here is the trailhead I am trying to describe. I am posting on my phone, which is always an adventure, so I'll try to check on a computer later and post up on the calendar.

Hey guy’s I may try and make it for this run. Only thing is my cb is out of commission right now due to some changes I’m making to the truck. So if I’m not working on it, I’ll see you guy’s Saturday morning.

The pin is the North end of Switzerland.

Is it the marked spot that says Switzerland Trailhead at the intersection of Switzerland trail and gold hill roads? Sorry to keep asking. :)

Just got home. I'll work on the post.

Swank, on the map there is a line showing "Switzerland Trail" connecting to sawmill road before the pin I linked. I have never been on this spur, actually. The interesting stuff is near where I placed the pin. I'll try to upload a map that is marked clearly when I make the calendar entry. The place I usually end up has a large clearing and a fire pit where we can air down and group up.

No problem. I wasn't quite sure what that google map link would pull up on a PC since I created and posted the link from google maps app on my phone while I was out. It is easy enough to make an image out of it when I am at home and have access to a proper computer. The clearing is sort of behind a small hill / rise on the side of the road, so you can miss the turn off if you aren't expecting it. Google tells me it is 0.8 miles from the Lefthand Canyon Dr / Sawmill intersection to the trail turn off, so if you go further than 1 mile, you've missed it.

Its west on gold hill from the point you identified. Turn north on the first major road you hit. That’s sawmill. Go north on that to the trail head.

Some pretrip maintenance. Time to replace belt that runs power steering and then alternator. :) also disconnecting sway bars.
