I was watching a Bill Moore Lake video done in September and the Aspens are just gorgeous. I am thinking September 21, 2019. Meet at the Starbucks in Downieville, go up via Empire to avoid the technical Red Elephant, run the lake and maybe do some or all of Mill Creek. Return via Empire.
