Next time you head up to some of the trails on/near Mt Antero, you might look around for aquamarine crystals. I've found some very small specimens on Antero and also while climbing the peaks above Pomeroy and Iron Chest.

One needs to be aware that there are numerous semi-precious stone mining claims on Mt Antero. Claim jumping is illegal and could get one shot.

About 32:25 into the vid is a bit of talk of the excavator operator on cutting road.

Yep, a current map is ALWAYS advised... whether rock hounding or not.

To be clear to anyone who might own a claim... Claim boundaries must be clearly and visibly marked. Shooting someone for being on your claim is also illegal (the days of the wild west are long gone). Not to say there may not be some overzealous owners out there, but in that situation you are also allowed to defend yourself.

Just got into Rockhounding, heading out for some aquamarine next year when time permits. Would love to make a run out of it for all interested! Bonus for me is the knowledge gained from anyone that has more experience locating and digging crystals
