Just curious, I am turning 68 on Jan 12, does that make me the oldest old fart here?

Yah but he’s in Florida and not wheeling with us anymore so doesn’t count.

Hopefully he doesn't forget he's retired and drive into work next week like normal.

And about 100 yards before the final turn into the parking lot - the V-8 head smack happens that work is no-more - and he drives right by the turn and heads to some mountain 4x4 trail for the day.

I suppose I don't really count since I live in Arkansas now, but I read all the posts at least once a week. And I spend (lose) a good bit of time daydreaming about Colorado and remembering the trails I've been on. I will be 77 in June.

Only a couple of hours tomorrow: exit interview, turn in all the company’s computer equipment and my badge. Then I am done, done, done!

Jim

LOL - exit interview.

You've been with them how long? Is there anything you'd say that would improve life at the company?

Congratulations, though you might be forgetting the step where you return in 6 months as a contractor at 2.5 times your old rate. At least that seems to be the pattern where I've worked...

Congrats Tom. Now you can wheel more during the week while the crowds aren't as bad.

8 years with the company. Already had my interview with hr, just have a brief one with my supervisor to hand in my card key and say good bye. Nothing stressful at all.

what I am finding and didn’t expect at all was what an emotional time this is. Todays emotional had to do with my farewell lunch, and card that everyone signed and left notes that really touched me and a very generous gift card paid for by my peers.

Lots of other emotions going on about this as well, but the main one is the giddy happiness I am feeling

Very likely not since the main application I have been working on is being end of lifed and converted to an entirely different platform/language.
