HOT? what is the elevation? You can't go to Moab unless it is, say, November. :D

Hey guys
Hope that you are having a great time! Tahoe is pretty nice. I have done a ton of rock climbing around Tahoe, including some around Strawberry and Donner Summit. Cool area...maybe not in the summer time, though.
Bridal Veil Falls is nice. Last time I was there was in the winter when they reopened it to climbing. It had been closed for almost 15 years to climbers due to liability concerns from the owners of the mine.
Thanks for the update on the pass. I figure that there are many passes that aren't going to open until August, if at all.
Be safe and have fun. Good to hear from you!

Alright I am back in CO WOO HOOO I really do love it here. But here is a quick overview of our great/extremely fun trip!
Day 1 - Telluride, go there set up camp enjoy views see a few things on the way down
Day 2 - Because we had my dads car 4-wheeling was out so we hiked up Bridal veil falls and a little beyond, go back to camp and hang out!
Day 3 - Head out for Lake Tahoe, but along the way take in some sites, went to Arches/Moab and took some scenic driving tours and short (HOT) hikes. Cross into Nevada and end up not finding a hotel until Fallon, NV (about 80 miles away from Lake Tahoe)
Day 4 - Take a trip backtracking and go to the sand dunes in NV, nothing like the ones here but still a lot of fun to go out and have fun, even better there was almost noone there! From there we head out to out hotel!
Day 5 - Go to Reno, NV for the Automobile Museum, I loved this place and really enjoy all you can learn there, sadly one of my favorite there was a jeep.. but not a normal one, a Ferrari V-12 powered Wagoneer with A LOT of goodies.. After that we went around the shoreline of Tahoe and stoped at a few places, it is a beautiful place!
Day 6 - Hiked again, this time we took a trail head from Emerald Lake Trailhead and went up to a lake called Eagle Lake and went for a chilly swim, but really refreshing none the less. Had a good dinner and went back to the hotel
Day 7 - (bare with me I am forgetting order) We bummed areound and took some small hikes/went to the hotel pool and stayed close today, keep the miles down on the car
Day 8 - TO THE OCEAN. We took a drive to San Franciso. I showed Jess what city life is like( LMAO I hate it there also) and then went to the beach. On the way back to our hotel we met up with a friend of Mine in Davis, CA. I had a great time hanging out, was an early night, got home aroud 3 a.m. LOL..
Day 9 -Went to the Lake at a beach called Nevada Beach and had a lot of fun swimming and hanging out! Had some sushi and such for dinnner at a lake side place, was really good!
Day 10 - SUNBURN HURTS LOL I am remembering the joy of yesterday as well and remembering I forgot to add sucscreen to my shoulders and such LOL Went to a Shakespere Play on the Kings Beach outdoor arena, that was a awsome setting and a great play.
Day 11 - Leave Tahoe for home, swing by Yosemite Nat'l Park and do some touring/hiking. Hiked CA version of Bridal veils. Had fun, wished we had more time to hike. Took a bunch of back ways home here is what I learned. HWY 120 in CA you can catch air doing the speedlimits if not careful, the heives are huge!!!! Small towns along the way are fun. Stayed the night in Delta, UT
Day 12 - Left Delta after a great breakfast at Top City Diner we headed toward CO. Once there we went to Colorado Nat'l Monument. A really great place to go. I would love to go for a bike ride there. Also on the way we took Hwy 50 to HWY 92. Hwy 92 has a bunch of great hiking and open space to have fun FYI. Made it home around 2 a.m.
All around I had a great time and put on 3600 miles!!

Wow, you went to some great spots! Good to see you finally got to Moab. Isn't Arches amazing? How did you keep all that gear in that little car? I can't wait to be able to do a road trip that isn't just heading to Salt Lake.

I have always had a great time at Arches! I need to quit going during the summer..LOL.... As far as fitting I went to Target bought a 30 /35 gallon tub and told yself all camping gear except cloths/sleeping bags must fit in that. It was really amazing how much I was able to fit. Now when we camp I just grab that and all is there including the tent. So we would just have to pack the cooler and cloths! We never made it to Salt Lake, we stuck to all back highways to see more than just interstate america!
