I so wish I could join you but on a mission to put a llift on my brothers 98 xj.Dave and I started it tonight and we want to try to get it done before sunday. I got some chains for my jeep and I really want to try them out . am sure there will be other times.

It was a nice morning run, back home at exactly 4 hours! Ran Ironclads first up to the steep icy section of the loop. Put chains on here and worked.... and I mean worked up the steep loose trail with deep snow. Made it almost to the top part that flattens out but the tracks stopped there and I wasn’t able to keep pushing thru the deep snow so we turned back and then ran Bunce road all the way to the meadow section where the deep drifts always form... and they were incredibly deep and blocked off (likely by the ATV rental folks). Beautiful clear skies but blowing wind making the fresh snow pile up in spots. Always fun to get out ;)

Someone put a big chunk of wood on the trail to block it..... moveable if needed by the looks of it. Pretty sure it was put there to keep the atvs from going past that point and getting stuck in huge snow drifts

There's a seasonal closure on Bunce but it's by gate near the T-33 / MSV junction. You can run the trail either direction up to the gate. Not sure if the log was intentionally placed or just a fallen tree, but it wasn't placed there by the Forest Service and you can move it... I called the Boulder Ranger district and confirmed just to be sure.

Actually you can only run this trail from the north when the gates are closed because the south entrance is from Camp Dick which is also gated for the season! And the gate is closed just before the T33 intersection...... but this “road block” was placed there most likely to keep the ATVs from going into the deep drift area and getting stuck! The drifts were so deep that I doubt anyone could get thru without a lot of winching
