My daughter (an RN currently working in a Coumadin clinic for UCHealth), is being deployed into a hospital. Damn. She has worked in the hospital scene in the past and wasn't fond of it, but now out of apparent necessity, she is be deployed. She goes in tomorrow for skills check-off. She specializes in pediatrics, so I'm hoping that is where they put her. Keep her and others like her in your thoughts and prayers please. (It's kinda like being drafted into the military isn't it?).

Yeah it is like being drafted. I commend her and all of the medical professions.
The exposure alone is enough to make me say nope, it just seems like a when, not if I would get it.

Best wishes for her Jackie, RN's are today's heroes. Hoping pediatrics needs her badly!

I have a nephew who is an Ophthalmologist in Sacramento. His practice has shut down for the period of social distancing but he has been called upon to work at the local hospital. So far he hasn't been asked to work in the infectious ward, but as demand increases, it's likely just a matter of time until he is. His wife is a veterinarian and she's also been asked if she can do some work at the same hospital... You know they're getting desperate when they start asking vets to work with humans.

They are very good people, Brian! I'm sure their skills can be put to good use. We need more people like them. (I just wish we had the PPE to keep them all safe).
