Essentially the first range of mountains those traveling from the east need to pass over. From Laramie down to near Canyon City.

Interesting map lines for sure.
Based on the map and the FR4x4 statement of "Only if you are a PERMANENT RESIDENT living on Colorado's Front Range and meet the other requirements may you submit a registration request. All registrations are reviewed by the moderator for approval.". it looks like you have a lot of reviewing for approval to do in your spare time. :lmao:

Wasn't there a time when the cities along the front range area where known as the valley - as in I-25 (and maybe its predecessor) was known as the valley highway? maybe I take this too literally as a geologist, but the term 'range' does mean a lineation of mountains.

Interstate 25 in Colorado
Historical nicknames for this route have included the Valley Highway (through Denver (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver,_Colorado)), Monument Valley Highway (through Colorado Springs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Springs,_Colorado)), and the Pueblo Freeway (through Pueblo). Within El Paso County (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Paso_County,_Colorado), the route has been dedicated as the Ronald Reagan Highway.[2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_Highway#cite_note-2)[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_Highway#cite_note-Interstate_25-3) In Pueblo County (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pueblo_County), the route is called John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway.
Interstate 25 is also considered to be part of the unofficial Pan-American Highway (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan-American_Highway).[4] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_Highway#cite_note-4)

maybe I take this too literally as a geologist, but the term 'range' does mean a lineation of mountains. Then there are subranges of the front range such as the Kenosha and Tarryall mountains.

I enjoyed listening to that story on the radio. The other good one I heard was them talking about Pablo Escobar's hippos that are now loose in Columbia and what their impact has been.

I believe the term "Valley Highway" stems from the Platte River Valley which runs along I-25 for much of the way through Denver.
