Does anyone know if the gate at chinaman is open? If so I’ll be there Saturday night.

People have been running it almost every weekend. I have never seen the gate closed. You may get hassled by the county though.

It’s so crazy that we can’t go be alone on the woods. I’ll be up there with my brother he lives with me so we hopefully won’t get hassled.

Last I heard Chaffee county currently has an order to keep out non-residents.

Just food for thought....I believe the main hospital in Chaffee county is HRRMC - its has like 25 beds. If 100-1000s of people from metro areas visit and even one of them bring C19 to local residents, it wouldn't take long to overwhelm such a small facililty...5 or so families could overwhelm their local hospital.

Chaffee County posts update videos on this page, and it looks like they're trying to open on May 1, if things go well. She gives the impression that things are going well. :thumb:

I can wait a few more days. This is killing me inside. Daycare is closed. Taking care of a 10 month old and working full time is really wearing me down. Happy to be healthy and still employed. So it can always be worse.

Could be worse. My son’s wife is attending college(from home) and has three children at home who require home schooling, oldest is 11, and my son works nights as a security guard. Compare that to your situation

I know its tough but it could be much worse.

From: https://mtprinceton.com/ I don't see how they can allow tourists at the petri dish and not on the trails, so it looks like May 16th for Chaffee County:

Given the current situation and the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19), Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort is closed for leisure travelers and swimming.
The Princeton Market remains open for gas and grocery sales.
The swimming facilities will be open in some capacity on May 16, 2020.
We are accepting limited lodging reservations beginning May 16, 2020, with more capacity opening June 1, 2020 onward.
