Thinking of another weekday run this week...probably Wed, Thurs or Fri work. Open to ideas and suggestions....I've never run some of the stuff down south by Eagle Rock/Saran Wrap. Always up for a Chinamans run if its a weekday (early start though). Kelly Flats and stuff up north is option - just a bit of a drive for me. I'm even up for some RRR exploring around Ice Cave, Balanced Rock etc.....

Friday is my hiking day with my son. Weds or Thurs I could do. All your options are a looong drive for me. I don't know of anywhere else open though.

Pickle Gulch may be open now, and maybe Yankee Hill too. I think it's too early for Kingston regardless of covid closures. I believe the Gilpin County road closures ended this weekend, but I'm not 100%. I can do Wed or Thursday as well.

I would be up for Pickle or Yankee if we can ascertain gilpin county roads have been opened.

I found this link

Point number three says its scheduled to end May 31 unless extended.

Cool - any interest to go over Pickle, then head over Yankee....heading up mosquito creek to Miners Gulch is a fun way to get to Yankee...

Sure if we can be certain county roads are open.

I just emailed Gail Watson the signatory on the document closing the roads.

How about Thurs at 10 am....we can run up pickle and then ether head over to Miners Gulch, Yankee, or head north over Dakota Hill to Moon Gulch and the old Shafthouse...?

I should be able to do this. The Shafthouse is awesome, I'd enjoy seeing that again. :thumb:

Strongly considering joining. I've taken virtually no vacation this year and this seems like a great use of a day.

okay I'll post it up...Pickle Gulch to the shaft house. Its been a lot of years since i was to the shafthouse (and it would be neat to see it again) so will see if we can figure out how to get there....

I've never heard of the shafthouse before. A quick search didn't turn up anything useful, but since I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for I could easily miss the correct results.
