View Full Version : Stolen 2016 Toyota Rav 4

My son is a security at a dispensary near 38th and Tejon. At closing last night 4 armed black men came in and robbed it. No one hurt. Thank God, but my son's weapon was stolen along with his cell phone and my wife's 2016 Toyota Rav 4. He's been using it because his vehicle cannot make the commute from Longmont reliably.

It seems he was the only one on site with a car. Everyone else there was using uber.

Pretty good news. We used Google's track my device this morning and his phone showed up as 1.5 blocks away from this dispensary so we headed back down to Denver. Found the phone on a retaining wall right where google said. Across the street was the Rav 4. No signs of damage on the exterior. Didn't open it or touch anything. Called Denver police and they sent a crime scene tech and an officer to the location. They impounded the vehicle for forensic testing and they printed my sons phone. He got it back today. Guessing a week before we get the car back.

This took forever to happen. I just got home at 2:40. We left Longmont around 9:40 am. There's a day shot, but I am overjoyed with the results.

Congrats Tom. That sounds like a pretty awful experience for your son, but I'm glad you were able to locate and recover the vehicle so quickly.

Yes. He just told me that three rushed thru the front and each had a gun to his face.

CSI is done with the vehicle finally. Will be heading out to pick it up shortly.

Got the vehicle back. No damage and nothing taken at all. Last I heard they have found some physical evidence. Don't know if from the mmj shop or our car. They have not caught anyone yet.

We bought a bullet proof vest for him this am.

IMO the dispensary should consider having locked doors and having to "buzz" customers in.
