Feeler for this weekend Saturday trail run up Kingston. Usually have time to run something else (Yankee Hill?) afterwards if we get started at a good time.

I've only run these trails starting just outside of Blackhawk. There is a park (with restrooms) or a big trailer area that are good meetup options (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Black+Hawk,+CO/@39.8093851,-105.542229,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x876bbc7a8ccbb8fb:0x4935b9a9c9693 666!8m2!3d39.7969322!4d-105.4938853)

Would probably try to meetup around 8:45 and get onto the trail around 9.

I'm tentatively interested. I've always run it starting from Rollinsville, so it'll be interesting to run it from Blackhawk.

It might be basically the same route from either place. We have to drive up Apex road a ways from Blackhawk to get to the meat of the trail. Rollinsville is probably just as close and easy for me as Blackhawk if there's a preferred meeting place there.

I would join but have run it twice already in the last 1.5 weeks.

I'm in, been wanting to see Lomond from the overlook.

I'm going to join for this one and I'm also going to plan the same for the next weekend so my friend can join.

We could just kick it to next weekend entirely, too.

I'm good with either way, I'd like to get out on a trail this weekend too and don't mind running it twice. Up to you

Well I'm sorry for the unnecessary complication, my brother just told me that he's finally sending for a tow truck to get his CJ5 off my property after close to a year of free storage :) So I will need to be home on Saturday to handle that. I didn't mean to hijack your trip so I'll still plan on going on the 29th, if you want to change this weekend's trip to coincide just let me know. I can also hand over the planning to you if you want to move it to next weekend. In that case I can point the planning thread I made to your planned run.

I could probably do the 22nd. Could be out if the wife has to take a ‘volunteer’ shift. I’m out on the 29th.

I won't go this weekend after all. Have some issues with the Jeep to resolve and the wildfire smoke is really thick right now. I'll look at running with Ty's group next Saturday instead. Sorry for getting anyone excited unnecessarily.

I'd be down for this and I could guide us up Pickle Gulch to get to Apex instead of taking the gravel road to Apex if anyone was interested still.

I just did this route today on my dirt bike, didn't notice the smoke at all (although I sure do at my house in Ned) and the views were great. I'd be up for doing it soon in my Rover as well, just putting more time in on the dirt bike lately since I have a whole week of wheeling planned for next month.

Glad to hear the smoke wasn't bad up there. Haven't seen the mountains from my house in a few days. Looks awful down here.

Just came up 285 from 50 and the traffic was terrible, tons of semis and super slow. Smokey AF, down by Salida you could barely see the Collegiate Peaks, and the snow up top looks grey. Traffic was so bad we turned off in Grant over Guanella Pass, the smoke was so thick up top we couldn't get out of the car for long. From the Georgetown side we went to Idaho Springs and took Virginia Canyon road- very little smoke. I was really surprised, but up by Central City the smoke was nothing like what we came from. On the downside, Apex rd has been paved from 119 back to the turn off.

Good smoke / air quality resource
