My instrument panel is a bit dark (dimmer is at max illumination). I replaced all of the bulbs a few years ago and am a bit surprised at the dim condition already. I'm thinking of going LED for greater illumination and for longer life. I don't want a crazy bright dashboard (the car runs at the minimum setting - but the jeep needs more). I'm concerned about the dimability of LED's (or being too bright when they are on).
What say ye? Has anyone done an LED swap from incandescent? Are they controllable with the stock dimmer?
`came across this page / video - the LED's referenced are non-dimmable. When he changed the dimmer the LED's simply shut off (on/off condition). That's what I'd anticipate from the stock dimmer with LED's. Do folks change out the dimmer to one that is compatible with LED's or just run the dimmer at high?
