SUNDAY Dec 13 - Bunce / Ironclads / Rock Creek perhaps???
It looks like some snow is in the works. I asked a couple folks if they'd like to get out - maybe's. Posting here - anyone want to get out Saturday (scratch Sat, day has moved to SUNDAY)? I don't know how much snow we'll get.
Thoughts?

I expect there will be more snow than I want to deal with on ironclads. If the snow doesn't come through as forecast, I'm interested.

I remember it being fun last time we tried it in the snow, but pretty tough on the steeper hills. Ever tried the flatter but rocker one nearby? Can't remember the name of it, something flats maybe, it takes off from the same parking lot as ironclads I think and in the summer it can be so bouncy that it's a bit annoying but with the snow to take the edge off that one could be fun too. I'm up for something though if it's not too deep. Worst case can pull the chains out.

You might be thinking of Coney Flats - closed for the season.

The southern end of Bunce School Road is also closed / gated. I call it "the meadow". Just south of where you made it last winter. I wonder how much snow Bunce might have (now / before new snow)?

Folks that wished to join in can't go on Sat but can on Sun so I'm moving the query to Sunday. I'm going - likely bunce - but TBD. If anyone is interested for Sunday the 13th - just holler.

Sunday is also an option for me. Still keeping an eye on the snowfall. There are a couple places on ironclads I don't think I'd want to try if there is much snow.

We'll probably run Bunce to the south gate (depending upon snow). One of the two guys I'm talking with wants to try out new tires. Ironclads could be a tac-on once Bunce is wrapped up - seeing how folks think. Some might head out, some might want to try Ironclads.

I’m in. I reserve the right to chicken out 10’ further down the trail than Trent does.

How does meet at Lyons (sandstone park) at 9am - moving out by 9:15am?

Not at the trailhead? Lyons seems the long way around for me to get to Bunce from Nederland.

Meets, generally, are in cell phone coverage areas as most folks are coming from the plains. For folks that it does not make sense, like the out-of-the-way drive for you, trailhead or some other convenient spot is reasonable.
Should the 9a @ Lyons meet happen, I believe it's 20 minutes to the trailhead, so a 9:30 trailhead would be reasonable.

Strongly "maybe", leaning hard to "yes". The late model Tacoma that joined me last week is coming with me if I go full "yes"

Not much snow down here. Maybe an inch and a half. Any idea how much accumulation up towards Bunce?

My wife was in Lyons hiking today. She intended to snowshoe, but there wasn't enough snow for that. She said less than 2 inches on the trails she hiked.

Only very light snow falling tonight in FoCo.
My guess is that there might not be heavy snowfall for the trails.
Who's on the fence, checking weather?
(I am going. I'm meeting two others in Lyons at 9am)

I can just see the picture now: A Colorado winter wonderland background with your truck foreground and you standing outside it with flip-flops (ok, maybe unlaced boots), shorts, t-shirt. CALENDAR MATERIAL !
You know you want to!

I’m heading up to the schoolhouse. There was a Winter storm warning last night but I ended up with just a couple of inches of snow in Nederland.
